There are four main schools that deliver virtual and blended learning to students in Victoria:
Virtual School Victoria
- VSV is Victoria’s leading virtual learning provider. VSV offers the largest range of subjects of any school in Victoria.
- Students can study full time with VSV if they meet enrolment criteria.
- Students from Prep to Year 10 can complete one subject and students in Year 11 or 12 can complete up to two subjects that are not offered at their school or not available due to timetabling clashes or other issues.
- VSV offers a mix of blended, online and face-to-face teaching and learning for flexible, engaging and self-paced study.
Victorian School of Languages
- VSL is Victoria’s leading provider of languages education. VSL provides opportunities for students to learn a language that is not available at their school.
- Students from Years 5 to Year 12 can choose from 14 languages on offer.
- VSL offers a mix of interactive online learning, video-conferencing oral lessons and face-to-face seminars.
Victorian Virtual Learning Network
- VVLN is an initiative of Bendigo Senior Secondary College and offers 6 virtual VCE subjects to students across Victoria: Accounting, Chemistry, Mathematical Methods, Psychology, Physics and Specialist Mathematics.
- VVLN offers ‘on demand’ learning, complemented with individual support through online communication with teachers.
- At least once during the school year, VVLN teachers visit each school for face-to-face meetings with students.
Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES)
- CHES is a centre of excellence for high-achieving and high-ability senior secondary students across Victorian government schools.
- CHES provides a range of Higher Education Studies in partnership with universities and select VCE studies and Year 10 enrichment electives.
- CHES offers interactive lessons online and face-to-face at their Melbourne campus.
